Dear Music Diggers,

You must be wondering, "Where that Boy don' been now?"

Well I've been out and back again much: barnstorming stateside with old music friends, including couple of reunions...and also some voracious world treking thru the Netherlands, India, Bangla Desh and Lithuania in various combos a la Saskia Laroo.
And I love it. Hit the Tarmac last week only to ramble straight out to Eastern Mass/Cape Cod with my partner David Chevan and the Afro-Semitic Experience

followed by two upcoming Byrdspeak Ensemble Hits:
Tomorrow, Tuesday, July 14 @ 4:00 PM — 7:00 PM West End Farmer’s Market on Clemens Green, Farmington Avenue between Woodland & Owen, Hartford, CT, featuring Trumpet/Saxist Saskia Laroo, Bassist Joris Teepe, Saxophonist Ray Blue, and Drummer Roger Post.

The other is next Wednesday, July 22, 11:00 AM-12:30 North End Farmers’ Market, 80 Coventry Street, Hartford, CT, USA-Warren Byrd-Leader/Piano/Vocals, Saskia Laroo-Trumpet/Sax, Stephen Porter-Bass, George Mastriogiannis-drums (raindate: July 29th)

(newsletter December 31, 2015)
Yo’, Music Diggers,

It’s Merry-New time again. That includes myself: this is the return of the Where’s Warren news-blasts, and looking forward to the jingle bells of gig jive, fellowship news, and pert jam journal (well, as I remember, I was intermittently scolded for “talkin’” too much)…

...A GOOD 2015, eh?

It’s was a good 2015. Saskia and I got out on the road quite a bit: Poland, Russia, Italy, India/Bangladesh, Belgium, and of course, my 2nd home the Netherlands—and not to leave out—travels and shows in the USA, the 17th year of the Afro-Semitic Experience, gettin' DeFunkt with Mr. Joseph Bowie and just some great moments all around—not bad, eh, especially after a 2014 well-spent in pursuit of physical correction.

Well, I doing swell now and looking forward to 2016. If El Niño has no say, January will be a winning month! Laroo/Byrd, The Afro-Semitic Experience, Al Carter Project, and many sideman joys with the great drummer and long lost bro-man, George Mastrogiannis, and not to forget Liviu, Roger@Lauretano, mr. Blue, Ms. Ransom, Stamford’s new point of jazz light, MLK, NY'sE, NY'sD, EdW, BLkEydSly's...(W-H-E-W!! I'm getting lost)...it would be a far cry from my "tame" November--get deets below

HAPPY NEW YEAR!! WB

"Expression of these shades is how humanity soars into fresh visions of joy, peace and wholeness, as well as sweat, tears, and suffering--all in the the process of existence. Let us ring out and share with music, sounds, tales, movements and dances, vistas and visuals, and a conglomerates of these that we may attune with our collective core."
